For me, this is my favorite series. Humor, mystery, fast paced. I just wish he wrote faster. If you haven't read any of his works I would recommend starting with the first in this series Vertigo Rising. You don't have to as this book can stand alone ok but it would be better plus they sort of build the character (and other regulars in the book) along the way. Yes there are some minor typos which if you have average or above reading skills are easily overlooked/ignored (like "spit" instead of "split") since the correct word is easily determined by the context in which it is used. Don't expect a bunch of emotional fluff, thank goodness it is not there. Now if Mr. Morningstar would just quit his day job and start writing more about Dirk Garrick... By the way, he also has another series, I think it is called Shadow Kingdom (I don't remember any titles), and I have just started the first book in that series which I am about half way through and it is good but I don't think as good as the Dirk Garrick books. At least I will have something to keep reading until the next Dirk Garrick book. Try Vertigo Rising, if you like it the rest get even better.Product details
